Hello Maria, thanks for your comment.
Funimag.com is enterely devoted to funiculars since 1996! I thinks it is a good way to browse into Funimag to see how funiculars have been implemented all around the world for centuries.
Don’t forget to browse also my blog ‘photoblog’.
Manufacturers page is also a good way to approach actual manufacturers of funiculars.
Also Google books can be a good way to find online books.
To find funicular books, a good way is to search into online libraries all around the world.
    For example, in France:
    CNAM
    http://cnum.cnam.fr/recherche_avancee/Recherche_avancee.html
    Gallica
    http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k91046c.r=funiculaires.langEN

Hope this is useful for you,
    Cheers
    Funimag
