Bottom station
The
bottom station.
On this view we can appreciate the very steep gradient of this funicular. On the cabin, the blazons of Helligenblut (left) and Carinthia. La gare inférieure. Sur cette vue on peut apprécier la très forte pente de ce funiculaire. Sur la cabine, les blasons d'Helligenblut (à gauche) et de Carinthie. |
The
botom station (talstation) which is very... rudimentary, and the conductor
of the cabin 2 who is waiting, seat on the steps, for the next departure.
La gare inférieure (talstation) qui est des plus... rudimentaire et le conducteur de la cabine 2 qui attend le prochain départ assis sur les marches. |
General
vue from the the surface of the glacier. Note that is 1856 the surface
of the glacier was reaching the level of the siding (between the two red
cabins)!

In 1963 the surface of the glacier was reaching the level of the bottom station where is the red cabin on the photo (yes, find it!). Franz-Josefs-Höhe sous le Freiwandspitz (3035 m). En 1963, la surface du glacier atteignait le niveau de la gare inférieure, là où se trouve la cabine rouge sur la photo (oui, vous pouvez la chercher!). |
