After visiting the Funicolare Principe-Granarolo I was quite sure that this tramway was a real funicular before it was a cog-wheel train.
I had to confirm my theory. I asked some persons in Genova but nobody could give me the reason why this train is called Funicular.
Of course I had the idea to ask directly AMT, and I have received the answer:
