Erlenbahn is located at Handdegg on the left bank of the Aar river just on the opposite bank than the famous Gelmerbahn which is the steepest incline of Switzerland.

The one track line is really straight, it started just near the KWO Hotel Handeck and goes straight on the top of the hill thru the forest.
