River Aare
Where the fishes take the funicular !
Où les poissons prennent le funiculaire!
Wildegg-Brugg Powerstation,
downstream side. The fishes of the Aaare river which want to swim up the stream have to use the fich lift. You can see the beginning of the fish lift on the foreground! |
The fish lift continues as a staircase. |

The fish staircase continues |
At the downstream side
too, there is also a real cable lift which is used for the boats. |
Then here the fish lift
joins the boat lift and will follow the inclined railway under
the track!. |
From there the fish
lift and the boat lift are merged and are climbing the slope into the
forest. |
|

The fish lift under the funicular. |
The highest point of the line. In this box, the engine of the funicular. This is also the point where the fishes reach the level of the upstream Aare river, so they leave here the funicular to reach the river! |
The track is now going down
to the upstream river. |
The boat carrier. |
|
The upstream end of the track
which goes under the water. |
The baby fishes which were
born in the upstream part of the Aare river... Are they supposed
to return there by the fish lift at the end of their life to
procreate? |
