Drum brakes (B) on engine
(A) axles.
Disc brakes on the big pulley.
Three pairs of jaws (A) for the emergency brake.
(only on the same size of the cabin)
Cog wheel brake on rack between the rails.
This system was used on water-ballast funicular to regulate the speed of the descending cabin.
The rack can be an 
Abt or
a 
Riggenbach rack.
