Description

Certainly the most unknown funicular of Switzerland is hidden in the city of Lucern. It was built between 1912 and 1914 at the same time of the Hotel Montana which is one of the most famous hotels of Lucern. The **** hotel is very well located on the hill slope with a splendid panorama above the Lake of the Four Cantons. The private funicular is used to link the shore of the lake to the hotel.

The funicular has one cabin of 15 passengers maximum, it is free but it is private and used by the customers of the hotel.

In 1987, the funicular has been totally renewed by Garaventa AG (Goldau CH).
