New cars for Ôyama funicular

Here is the design of the new cars of funicular Ôyama Japan.
The funicular is actually stopped to be entirely renovated.
It will be reopen on October 1st 2015 for its 50th anniversary.

Voici le design des nouvelles voitures du funiculaire d’Ôyama au Japon. Le funiculaire est actuellement arrêté pour être entièrement rénové. La remise en service est prévue pour le 1er octobre 2015 à l’occasion du cinquantenaire fu funiculaire.

Tokyo Earthquake (March 11, 2011) – Toden Arakawa Line

Here is a remarkable video of the earthquake on March 11, 2011 in Tokyo on the tram line Toden Arakawa.
Note how the cars are shaken … and the apparent calm of the Japanese!
The traffic seems to have been interrupted and resumed in the evening..
The beginning of the video shows an old 7500 car (green), which will be withdrawn from service soon, next to a 8800 car(pink), its successor. All 7500 cars bear a badge indicating their withdrawal from the service on… March 13, 2011!

Tremblement de terre de Tokyo (11 mars 2011) – Sur la ligne de tramway Toden Arakawa

Voici une vidéo exceptionnelle du tremblement de terre du 11 mars 2011 à Tokyo sur la ligne de tramway Toden Arakawa.
A noter comment les motrices sont secouées… ainsi que le calme apparent des japonais!
Le trafic semble avoir été interrompu pour reprendre en fin de journée.
Au début de la vidéo on voit une vieille motrice 7500 (verte), qui va être retirée du service très prochainement, à côté d’une motrice 8800 (rose), sa remplaçante. Toutes les motrices 7500 arborent un macaron indiquant leur retrait de service le… 13 mars 2011!

Solution of Quiz #27 – Iya Onsen Hotel, Japan

Yes the solution of quiz #27 is the Iya Onsen Hotel in the Shikoku Island , Japan .
The hotel is located in the Iya Valley which is famous for its hot spring (Onsen means ‘hot spring’).
The little boy is pissing just in front of the hotel and its incline railway.
The incline railway is used to go down from the hotel to the river where are open-air bath which is 170 meters under the hotel.
It takes 5′ and the gradient of the slope is 42°.

Solution du quiz #27 – Iya Onsen Hotel, Japon

Et oui la solution du quiz #27 c’est bien l’hôtel Iya Onsen dans l’île de Shikoku au Japon.
L’hôtel est situé dans la vallée de l’Iya qui est célèbre pour ses sources chaudes (Onsen signifie ‘source chaude’).
Le petit garçon pisse juste en face d’ l’hôtel et de son funiculaire.
Le funiculaire de l’hôtel est utilisé pour se rendre au fond de la vallée où se trouvent des bains en plein air.
Il faut 5′ pour y descendre sur une pente de 42°.
