La fin du funiculaire Hartkaiser d’Ellmau

Encore un funiculaire qui va disparaître en Autriche!
En effet, le 6 avril 2015, à la fin de la saison de ski au SkiWelt d’Ellmau, le Hartkaiserbahn va être démantelé pour faire place à un télécabine.
Décidément, les funiculaires n’ont plus la côte en Autriche… après la disparition de celui du Vermuntbahn, du Golmerbahn dans le Voralberg, du Bergbahn de St. Johann et du Kandaharbahn à St Anton dans le Tyrol… sans oublier bien entendu la tragique disparition du Gletscherbahn 2 à Kaprun le 11/11/2000.
Les raisons de la fermeture du funiculaire et de son remplacement par un télécabine Doppelmayr 10-EUB:
– frais de maintenance supérieurs à 750.000 euros par an.
– pièces détachées à 60% propriétaires et d’une technologie vieille de 40 ans
– pas d’accès aux handicapés avec le funiculaire actuel
– rapport capacité/temps d’attente trop faible
– avec un funiculaire même moderne, la capacité horaire ne dépasse pas 1600 passagers. Avec le télécabine Doppelmayr 10-EUB la capacité horaire sera de 3200 passagers en supprimant le temps d’attente.
– grand choix dans le design et les options des cabines du téléphérique
– possibilité de moduler le nombre de cabines en fonction de la demande
– facilité de maintenance des divers équipements du télécabine

The end of Hartkaiserbahn at Ellmau

One more funicular that will disappear in Austria!
Indeed, April 6, 2015, at the end of the ski season at SkiWelt Ellmau, the Hartkaiserbahn funicular will be dismantled to make way for a gondola.
Certainly, the funiculars are not so popular in Austria … after the disappearance of the Vermuntbahn, the Golmerbahn in Voralberg, the Bergbahn St. Johann and the Kandaharbahn in St Anton in Tyrol … of course without forgetting the Kaprun disaster of the Gletscherbahn 2 on November 11, 2000.
The reasons for the closure of the funicular and its replacement by Doppelmayr 10-EUB gondolas:
– Costs of revisions (over 750,000 euros per year)
– Repair parts (60 % of special manufacture – 40 years old)
– Ratio carriage passenger capacity/customer waiting time
– No handicapped accessible
– Ratio Capacity / time to wait too low
