A new way to fix the cable to the cabin appeared a few years ago. It is both simpler and efficient. The cable is winded 3.5 times around a drum and then simply locked with some bolts. The main advantage is that the cable is in its natural state. If the cable needs to be shortened, because of its expansion, the operation is to modify the winding around the drum and tighten the bolts. No more need to prepare a new end for the cable (see below the old way). The other advantage: the force exerted by the cable is completely absorbed by the drum and not by the bolts. Une nouvelle manière de fixer le câble à la cabine est apparu il y a quelques années. Elle est à la fois plus simple et plus efficace. Le câble est enroulé 3,5 fois autour d'un tambour et simplement vérouillé par des boulons. Le principal avantage de cette méthode est que le câble est dans son état naturel d'origine. Si le câble a besoin d'être raccourci, à cause de son élongation, il suffit simplement de réajuster son enroulement autour du tambour et de resserrer les boulons. Il n'est plus nécessaire de préparer un nouvel embout du câble (voir ci-dessous l'ancienne méthode). L'autre avantage est que la force exercée par la traction du câble est complètement absorbée par le tambour et non pas par les boulons.

Les fils du câble étaient écartés et repliés sur eux-mêmes avant d'être insérés dans un tube cônique et scellés au métal.
