 The surprise 2

The second surprise is on this photo!

On this photo the track turning to the left is the extension of the incline track (surprise 1). The small green door on the left of the building is the entrance of the engine room of the incline.

I didn't really realize this switch and the track turning to the right to the large green door (The surprise 2)! This track explains the existence of the incline (surprise 1). The incline is used to transfer heavy loads from the narrow gauge train and...this new track which is in fact another railway network and the large green door is the entrance of another tunnel!

The surprise 2

This is the map of the Reisseck railway networks at the altitude of 2300 meters.

A : is the narrow gauge train already described

B : is the incline track and is used for the transfer of the two railways A and C.

C : is another narrow gauge railway network, most of it is in tunnel. It seems to be private and used for the maintenance of the pipelines which link the three dams (Hochalmsee and Höhersee to the Grossmülldorfsee).

The surprise 2

The surprise 2

The same photo as the precedent page.

This track is in fact the beginning of the second railway network (C).
