Certainement inspiré par la mise en service du funiculaire de Moléson sur Gruyère en 1998, l’artiste François Burland a imaginé le premier funiculaire pour la poya (*) de la Gruyère.
En correspondance directe à la gare de Pringy (canton de Fribourg), un funiculaire, à bras, pour faire monter les vaches sur les alpages.

(*) La poya, c’est un terme suisse qui désigne la montée des troupeaux de vaches aux alpages pour les mois d’été. La descente à la fin de l’été est appelée la désalpe.

Actuellement, au Musée gruérien de la Bibliothèque de Bulle (canton de Fribourg), du 18 février au 10 juin 2012, l’exposition “POYA” de François Burland.

The funicular for the poya at Pringy

Certainly inspired by the funicular of Moléson sur Gruyère in 1998, the artist François Burland first envisioned a funicular for the poya (*) of Gruyère.
In direct connection to the train station of Pringy (Fribourg), a funicular to carry cattles up to the pastures.

(*) The poya is a Swiss term that designates the ascent of the cattle on the mountain pastures for the summer months. The descent at the end of summer is called desalpe.
