Here is a personal video of funicular Fun’ambule at Neuchatel (Switzerland). I remember that this funicular is a small underground automatic cable subway which links the University to the CFF train station. The video was taken on May 25, 2014.

Bà Nà Hills – the first funicular in Vietnam
April 26, 2014, the first funicular in Vietnam was put into service on Ba Na Hills, 42 km west of Da Nang .
Ba Na mountains rise 1485 meters above sea level . In 1919, the French Indochina Annam create a climate station at the summit of Mount Ba Na in the same way they had created the climate station of Dà Lat north of Saigon.
During Vietnam war , the urban center of Ba Na was completely destroyed by the bombing.
It was not until 2000 that the city of Da Nang decided to redevelop the Ba Na mountain and was built in 2004 Linh Ung Pagoda, a large white statue of Buddha and the great Ba Na Hills resort where two gondolas were built. In 2013, Doppelmayr built a third gondola 5.7 km long with an altitude difference of 1,368 meters.
In 2013, Garaventa at Ba Na Hills began construction of a long 400 meters funicular consisting of two ‘old style ‘ cars, red and yellow, inspired by Polybahn Zürich funicular and has been put into service on last Saturday by Da Nang authorities.

Le 26 avril 2014, le premier funiculaire du Vietnam a été mis en service sur le mont Bà Nà, à 42 km à l’ouest de Da Nang.
La montagne de Bà Nà s’élève 1485 mètres d’altitude. Dès 1919, les français de l’Annam d’Indochine créent une station climatique au sommet du mont Bà Nà de la même manière qu’ils avaient créés la station climatique de Dà Lat au nord de Saïgon.
Durant la guere du Vietnam, le centre urbain de Bà Nà fut entièrement détruit par les bombardements.
Ce n’est que vers 2000 que la ville de Dà Nang décide de réaménager la montagne Bà Nà et en 2004 fut construite la pagode Linh Ung ainsi qu’une grande statue blanche de Bouddha puis le grand complexe touristique de Bà Nà Hills pour lequel deux télécabines furent construites. En 2013, Doppelmayr construit un troisième télécabine long de 5,7 kilomètres pour un dénivelé de 1.368 mètres.
En 2013, Garaventa commence la construction à Bà Nà Hills un funiculaire long de 400 mètres composé de deux voitures, rouge et jaune, ‘ancien style’ inspirées du Polybahn de Zürich et qui vient d’être mis en service samedi dernier par les autorités de Dà Nang.

Sochi – New funicular at Voroshilov Sanatorium
The Russian city of Sochi will host the next Olympic Winter Games in 2014. On this occasion, Russia made huge investments to restore the luster to this resort on the Black Sea, a place of resort of the former USSR.
Sochi has a large number of big resorts and spa treatments which are called sanatoriums.
Among them, the Voroshilov Sanatorium has since 1930, a funicular that allowed residents direct access to the sea. The funicular was stopped in 2002 and remained abandoned for that date. On the occasion of the Olympic Games 2014, the funicular is in full reconstruction (track, cars and machinery) by Garaventa. He should be back in service in end 2013 or early 2014.
Sotchi – Rénovation du funiculaire du Sanatorium Voroshilov
La ville russe de Sotchi accueillera les futurs Jeux Olympiques d’Hiver en 2014. A cette occasion, la Russie fait d’énormes investissements afin de redonner de l’éclat à cette station balnéaire de la Mer Noire, haut lieu de villégiature de l’ancienne URSS.
Sotchi possède un grand nombre d’établissements de villégiature et de cures thermales qui sont appelés Sanatoriums.
Parmi ceux-ci, le Sanatorium Voroshilov est équipé, depuis 1930, d’un funiculaire qui permettait aux pensionnaires de l’établissement l’accès direct au bord de mer. Le funiculaire a été arrêté en 2002 et était resté à l’abandon depuis cette date. A l’occasion des Jeux Olympiques 2014, le funiculaire est en cours d’entière reconstruction (voie, voitures et machinerie) par Garaventa. Il devrait être à nouveau en service pour le début 2014.
