Terracebahn… la fin!

Bottom station under demolition.
The cars have been moved to the siding to make easier the demolition of the station.
Démolition de la gare basse.
Les voitures ont été avancées vers l'évitement pour dégager la gare.

No more bottom station.
La gare basse a disparu.

The cars have been removed.
The track is dismantled.
Les voitures ont été enlevées.
La voie est démantelée.

One car is supposed to stay at the Terrace Hotel Engelberg. The other car is supposed to go to the Stanserhornbahn at Kätli then to the Stans museum.
Une voiture doit rester à l'hôtel Terrace Engelberg, l'autre voiture doit aller dans un premier temps au funiculaire de Stans (Kätli) puis devrait être exposée au musée de Stans.

Adieu Terracebahn !

The old Terrace Hotel funicular (built in 1906) will stop at the end of March 2008!
It will be destroyed and replaced by two underground inclined lifts!
These two new lifts will join directly the Terrace Hotel parking.

So, that is one more Swiss funicular which disappears because of the new security norms and because of profitability!
Who's next? Stanserhorn? Reichbachfall? Friburg-Neuveville?…

Isn't it possible to keep it as historical monument? 

Le vieux funiculaire du Terrace Hotel d'Engelberg (construit en 1906) va être définitivement arrêté à la fin du mois de mars 2008!
Il sera aussitôt démantelé et remplacé par deux ascensurs inclinés souterrains qui aboutiront directement au parking du Terrace Hotel.

Encore un funiculaire suisse qui va disparaître victime des normes de sécurité et de la rentabilité!
Quel sera le prochain ? Stanserhorn? Reichenbahfall? Friburg-Neuveville?

Et pourquoi n'est-ce pas possible de le garder comme monument historique?
