Stanserhorn-Bahn vient de présenter son projet de nouveau téléphérique pour remplacer l’actuel qui relie Kätli, le terminus du funiculaire, au sommet du Stanserhorn.
Le secret semble avoir été bien gardé… il s’agit d’un téléphérique quasi révolutionnaire… le CabriO® de Garaventa.
Le CabriO® sera composé de cabines à deux étages avec l’étage supérieur à ciel ouvert comme une terrasse sur laquelle une trentaine de passagers pourront gouter aux sensations du vide et du vent. La terrasse communiquera par un escalier avec l’étage inférieur qui pourra contenir 60 passagers.
Autre particularité, il s’agira d’un téléphérique avec deux câbles porteurs et deux câbles tracteurs. Les cabines ne seront plus suspendues comme un pendule mais portées, disons épaulées, par les câbles qui passeront à mi hauteur des deux étages.
La mise en service est prévue pour mai 2012.

Stanserhorn-Bahn – The CabriO® from Garaventa

Stanserhorn-Bahn has just annonced its new aerial cable car project to replace the actual one which links Kätli, the top station of the funicular, to the summit of the Stanserhorn.
It was a well kept secret… it is quite a revolutionary aerial cable car… the CabriO® from Garaventa.
The CabriO® will be composed of double deck cabins. The top deck will be an open air deck on which the passengers will be able to feel the sheer drop and the fresh air. The open deck will communicate to the bottom deck with a little stair. The open deck will have a capacity of 30 passengers and 60 passengers for the bottom deck.
The CabriO® will be suspended onto two carrying cables and pulled by two tractor cables. The cabins will not be suspended anymore but they will be supported by the cables which will be at the middle level between the two decks.
This new aerial cable car will open on May 2012.
