Voici deux excellents documents (photo et video) du Margate Lido Cliff Railway, un funiculaire qui a complètement disparu depuis 1978 et qui permettait de descendre au bord de la mer depuis la promenade du Lido à Margate dans le Kent à l’est de l’Angleterre.
Construit en 1912, il était long de 21 mètres seulement et parallèle au bord de mer contrairement à tous les autres Cliff Lifts anglais qui sont perpendiculaires à la côte.
Here are two excellent documents (photo and video) of the Margate Lido Cliff Railway, a funicular that has completely disappeared since 1978 and which allowed people to descend to the sea from the promenade of the Lido in Margate in Kent, East of England.
Built in 1912, it was 21 meters long and parallel to the sea front unlike any other English Cliff Lifts that are perpendicular to the coast.
