L’Alpine Coaster de Datanla Falls

L’Alpine Coaster commence à être très répandu dans certaines stations de montagne comme piste de luge ou de bobsleigh d’été.
Développé par la société allemande Wiegand, il s’agit d’une attraction en circuit fermé sur lequel des luges individuelles à roulettes sont hissées en haut d’une pente à l’aide d’un remonte pente qui est un véritable plan incliné funiculaire. En haut de la pente les luges sont relâchées sur la partie descendante décrivant de multiples courbes pour revenir au point de départ.

Datanla falls’s Alpine Coaster

Alpine Coasters are quite famous now and you may find many of them in mountain resorts where they are used as summer sled attractions.
They are built by Wiegand, a German company, they are small roller coasters where individual sleds are pulled up to the top of the track with an automatic cable car system. Then the sled is dropped in a  steep slope with many curves.

A côté de Da Lat, au Vietnam, il y a une installation de l’Alpine Coaster assez singulière.
L’Alpine Coaster sert à la fois d’attraction pour sensations fortes mais pas seulement…. il est aussi utilisé comme moyen de transport pour aller visiter la cascade de Datanla (Datanla Falls). Autre particularité de cet Alpine Coaster, il est utilisé à l’inverse des installations habituelles où les charriots montent une pente par un système funiculaire pour ensuite revenir au point de départ en descendant les courbes. Ici, à Datanla Falls, l’Alpine Coaster commence pas descendre la pente sinueuse pour rejoindre en contre bas la cascade de Datanla Falls. Le visiteur quitte alors sa luge pour aller voir la cascade. Une fois sa visite terminée il reprend une autre luge qui le remontera à la gare supérieure par le plan incliné et tiré par un câble comme un vrai funiculaire!

Near Da Lat (Vietnam), there is a very interesting Alpine Coaster.
There, the Alpine Coaster is used both as a thrill attraction and also as a real transportation system. The Alpine Coaster is used to reach and visit Datanla Falls which at the bottom of a gorge. As the contrary of the other coasters, the departure is located at the top of the track and the sleds have first to go down on the slope to reach the bottom of tha track at Datanla Falls. There you leave the sled to visit the falls and after your visit you take another sled which takes you back uo to the top with the cable car system which is a real funicular.
