Part 1 - Presentation

Scarborough, the most popular seaside resort in northeast England (North Yorkshire), is located on slopes rising from the North Sea and terminated on the north and south by cliffs, of which North Cliff and South Cliff give their names to select residential areas ovelooking the North Bay and South Sands repectively.
The two bays are separated by a peninsula on top of which is the Scarborough castle which was bombed by german battleships during the World War I.
Because of its hilly nature, the town is singularly fortunate in possessing no less than four Cliff Lifts and once had a fifth.
To be more precise, Scarborough used to be the british city which possessed the largest number of inclines (5), today there are only three inclines in use.
