Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway. I am member of the Verein Furka-Bergstrecke (VFB) since 1992 and I built this web site to promote the extraordinary adventure of some men who did not accept the abandonment of the highest and most fantastic section of the Furka Oberalp railway after the boring of the Furka tunnel in 1982.

A cogwheel steam railway which is operated only three months a year and which climbs up the Furka pass at 2118m in wondeful landscapes one of the best is the Rhone Glacier.

Aletsch Glacier. My love and my fascination to the Swiss Alps and their glaciers attracted me for the third time to the Aletsch Glacier in the upper Valais. Along the Aletsch Glacier there is a special place which is more fascinating, this is an intermittent lake called Märjelensee.
